The Seal of God
Rev 7:1-3
And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree. And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, Saying, hurt not the earth, neither the seas, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.
We obey God out of love for Him.
John 14:21
He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
God of mercy and judgment:
God's mercy and judgment were revealed in Biblical times through the Ark of the Covenant. The Ark of the Covenant consisted of a gold chest that housed the 10 Commandments and other objects of God's choosing and a mercy seat that rested atop with two cherubim hovering above.
The mercy seat and golden chest of the 10 Commandments signify the mercy and judgment of God. He forgives and has mercy on those who repent and love Him, but judges the wicked.
"Therefore know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love him and keep his commandments." (Deut 7:9)
John sees the Ark of the Testament in a very special place.
Where is it?
The Ark of God's Testament houses the 10 Commandments, and the apostle John sees a vision of them in heaven as noted in the book of Revelation. This is very significant because it shows that God's holy law is eternal, and it wasn't done away with at the cross.
"And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, an earthquake, and great hail." (Rev 11:19)
If the 10 Commandments are in the Ark of God's Testament in heaven, doesn't that convey a very special significance? There they are preserved and are still of utmost importance to God.
The hour of His judgment is come: worship Him.
